Review of CIBAVision Focus Toric by CareBear Advantages: comfort Disadvantages: price ...For years those of us with astigmatism were stigmatised (pardon the pun) and not able to wear contacts... then along came the toric lenses. These are monthly disposable lenses designed for people with astigmatism. I can honestly say that over the two years that I wore Focus torics I was extremely satisfied. I only stopped wearing them as my sight was borderline toric or not and as I work long hours I did not think it was worth the cost as I often opened a pack and was not able to use them more than about 7 days in 30 and have now switched to daily disposables which do not give me such clear vision but are cheaper. The torics I got were through the Dolland and Aitchison postal scheme and caost Ј25 a month. I had been told that a lot of people did not get on with the toric lenses as they are "weighted" at the bottom and have a tendancy... Read review Ciao members have rated this review on average helpful helpful 12.02.2001 Ordering Your Contact Lenses Online Review of CIBAVision Focus Monthly by Luisep Advantages: Saves you money/easy to use Disadvantages: No "aftercare" service, but, this is fine if you don't use it anyway ...I have been using Focus Monthly lenses for the past 4 years and I find them extremely comfortable and easy to use. The blue handling tint is a great help too. Since wearing them, I have always purchased them from my Optician, until this year. The reason being that the price for a years supply has increased from Ј99 to a whopping Ј175! This does not include the cost of the solutions, either. So, this year, I decided to order them online from a company called Postoptics who had sent me their brochure. They have an extensive range of products and you get lots of freebies, dependant on what you purchase, which saved me at least Ј100 on the lenses alone (12 pairs costs only Ј59). You can phone, fax or post your order and prescription (all free)and they are are available to answer any questions you may have (no matter how stupid they sound... Read review Ciao members have rated this review on average somewhat helpful somewhat helpful 12.09.2002 ciba vision - monthly Review of CIBAVision Focus Monthly by SecretFormula Advantages: disposable Disadvantages: split easy ...Having worn contact lenses for about 12 years and starting off on the old contact lenses that you had to wear for 2 years and if you lost one in that time it would cost an arm and a leg to replace, these were a gods send when these came onto the market. I have worn the monthly disposables for about 3/4 years now (could be longer time does fly!!) its very nice to have the comfort of the fact that it does reduce the chance of getting any eye form of eye irritation/infection as they are changed more frequently. These ones have a blue tint too so that they are easy to find if dropped but dosn't change the colour of your eye. My only complaint would be that they do tend to split a lot easier than the older ones did as apparently they have a higher water contact being a little less durable. So be gentle!!!!!...
